Could Watermelon Be Good for Your Heart

Watermelon is one of those fruits that you think is just full of water. But if you were thinking that, then you would be quite wrong. In fact, watermelon has been shown(in tests on mice) to be of great importance to heart health.

There has been much research done on the health benefits of watermelons of late, the results of which are highlighting yet again how good mother nature is to our bodies. She provides us with all the nutrients, infection fighting components and natural remedies that we should ever need – if we lived that way on a continual, lifelong basis.

Unfortunately, that is not the way most of us live is it? Including myself. And I’m a firm believer in that ‘you are what you eat’; what you put into your body, is how it will act. If you put bad stuff in, your body will give you bad results, ie – infections and illness.

But if you put good stuff into your body (which is what we are endeavoring to teach with this website), then your body will repay you with good health and an energy level that most people can only dream about.

So what is in watermelon?

The important nutrient is an amino acid citrulline, which helps to stimulate blood vessels into relaxing. This helps blood flow more freely, which could help your heart and lower your blood pressure.
